Kya Kool Hain Hum 3- Movie Review

Basically Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 is a badly made adult comedy that makes no sense whatsoever and isn’t any fun to watch starring out of work actors and models with big tits.

Grand Masti- Movie Review

Grand masti posterMasti was one of the first adult comedy films that the audience loved way back in 2004. I was really looking forward to watching Grand Masti just to see what new it had to offer when compared to the various other adult comedies that release every year. Here’s what I thought.

Three friends who are married, sex-starved and looking for some excitement in life, get invited to their college’s reunion. Once there, they meet three sexy women who seem like the perfect types to have a fling with and their wives wouldn’t even know. Things go awry when the boys realise that they are all related to a man who is the biggest nightmare they know. How long can the Grand Masti go on for?

With tons of clichés and adult humour, director Indra Kumar has made a sex comedy that is basically for the masses. Please go expecting nothing but slapstick humour that is not acceptable to all. To be honest, I had a great time. The comic timing of all the actors, the dialogues, the screenplay all go hand in hand. There isn’t anything great about the story. Even though it’s supposed to be a reunion, you wont find anything like a reunion happening throughout the movie except for maybe the end when everyone meets at the hall and dances together.

The art direction is superb! Lots of colours and props used to make the film as colourful as possible. Great cinematography by Rituraj Narain. The costumes of the women are a little too much but I guess they’ve supposed to be and that’s the point of a sex comedy- to titillate the audience, men and women. I like how the guys were styled though. Even though they’re nine years older, all three actors look young and fresh.

The background music makes the film more fun to watch but I wouldn’t say the same about the music of the film. Music directors Anand Raj Anand and Sanjeev Darshan have composed music that’s not worth listening to and could have been avoided.

Coming to the performances… Riteish Deshmukh as we all know is too good at comedy and his expressions are bang on. Vivek Oberoi too I have always liked as an actor and even with the over-the-top acting he’s a treat to watch. Aftab Shivdasani is great at comedy and should consider doing more comedy films like these. In a way, a lot has to do with the chemistry the three of them share. They’re fantastic together with comic timings that match very well. Suresh Menon is another one with great comic timing but his role does get a bit annoying. Manjari Phadnis and Karishma Tanna are the only actresses who can actually be considered actresses. The rest of them- Bruna Abdullah, Maryam Zakaria Kainaat Arora and Sonalee Kulkarni are only about the body and looks.

Overall, Grand Masti is fun, entertaining and extremely corny so watch it only if you’re not going to be over-critical and judge everything you see.

Mirch- Movie Review

The movies this week weren’t too interesting and I wasn’t too keen on watching Tron Legacy cause it’s just not my type of movie so I chose Mirch.

There are like 5 stories in this movie so I’m not sitting and typing so much. I’ll tell you in short. A struggling writer approaches a producer with his rejected script with too much hope. The producer says sorry boss, give me a script which is solid. The only way to make money from a film is a dumdaar actor or sex.  So the writer thinks up 4 different stories, inspired from Panchatantra, in which there’s infidelity, sex and smart women.

Now coming to my review. The beginning of the movie almost made me snore. The title credits were simultaneously rolling with the protagonist waiting for his girlfriend and drinking beer at the same time. So for the first five minutes, all I could see was his hand and a glass of beer and car keys. But don’t worry… it could only get better from there. And it did. The stories were genuinely good. Ok the 2 stories after the Interval were a little weak compared to the first two.

There are some really talented actors in the movie- Konkana Sen Sharma, Raima Sen, Rajpal Yadav, Boman Irani, Shreyas Talpade, Shahana Goswami, Sushant Singh, Prem Chopra, Ila Arun, Arunoday Singh and Tisca Chopra. Director Vinay Shukla’s very smartly used most of them more than once in all the stories in the movie and they’ve done a good job, except for maybe Arunoday Singh who was just ok.

Cinematography could have been way better considering the beautiful locations they got. The music was pretty good and went well with the movie theme.

Overall, Mirch had quite a bit of masala to make it entertaining but it would’ve been better if the pace was faster too.

Hello Darling- Movie Review

Gul Panag, I have a question for you… WHY?! As much as I knew this movie would suck, I went to watch it only thinking that Gul Panag wouldn’t ever do movies like this! But well, popat ho gaya!

The movie is about 3 so-called “hot” women working together at some Fashion House and their boss who’s a horny bugger (Javed Jaffrey whose name is Harddick in the movie), trying his luck with all the women in the office. So basically these women do stuff to teach him a lesson.

The movie was so uninteresting that I don’t know what to say! Celina Jaitley can’t act and her fake eyes and ugly hair make her look stupid and I felt like slapping her! Eesha Koppikar was ok…her Marathi accent came in 2-3 times by mistake instead of a North Indian accent. Also, her stylist was pathetic and she didn’t look like someone working at a Fashion House from any angle! Gul Panag has acted well in the past… I wonder what went wrong here…Sad! Javed Jaffrey is a brilliant actor and he does comedy well but a movie like this…Tch tch tch! Chunkey Pandey is a monkey. He tries to act funny, but he really gets annoying! For the first time I thought Divya Dutta didn’t act well! She can’t play a Guju woman! Seema Biswas was wasted in the movie! Oh and Mr. Sunny Deol has a guest appearance in the end. His voice was dubbed and that was probably the only part when the movie was a little funny!

The songs are sad! The story is pakao! The jokes aren’t funny! The acting is pathetic!

Verdict– Waste of money!
