Ferrari Ki Sawaari- Movie Review

We all know what a fantastic team Raju Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra make because of the films they’ve made in the past (Munnabhai and 3 Idiots). For the very reason I decided that I just had to go watch Ferrari Ki Sawaari.

So, Rustam is a loving father who works at the RTO office. His son is an aspiring cricketer and wants to go to Lord’s stadium in London to play cricket but Rustam unfortunately doesn’t make enough money to even buy him new shoes, forget paying a 1.5 lakhs to go to London. He comes across someone who wants to rent a Ferrari for a day for a wedding and they’re ready to pay him the sum. To fulfill his son’s wish, he decides to go to Sachin’s house and ask him to let him take the Ferrari for a day but he gets lucky and gets the car without doing anything. From there starts a journey full of ups and downs.

To begin with, this is a heartfelt movie with a great story but lacks the pace and the entertainment quotient which should have been there in a movie like this. I felt that the director wanted to make  a happy, sweet family film but the screenplay sort of slowed it down and made it slightly boring. It’s the kind of film where humour plays a major role. Unfortunately, there aren’t any LOL moments in the movie at all.

It’s sad when you have brilliant actors -Sherman Joshi and Boman Irani and their talent is not used to the max. They both have acted very well. The boy who plays Kayo is also good. The music is sad. I didn’t like the Vidya Balan number one bit!

Ferrari Ki Sawaari is a sweet film but a tad bit boring. I’ll recommend Rowdy Rathore for the second time instead!

Rating– 2.5/5
