Golmaal 3- Movie Review

The Golmaal movies have always been in the ‘stupid-comedy’ category. They’re obviously not meant for everyone so do not judge me when I say that I liked it, especially if you make faces at stupid jokes!

I’m feeling lazy to type the story but in short its basically about these 5 orphans (Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemu, Tusshar Kapoor & Shreyas Talpade) with the help of Kareena Kapoor (also an orphan) bringing two old lovers (Mithun Chakraborthy & Ratna Pathak), who had to break up because of the girl’s villainous father together.

The story isn’t really something to brag about. It’s predictable and there’s no “wow” thing in it. The ending isn’t that great but what makes the movie a hit for me are the dialogues, the way all the actors look (except Shreyas Talpade) and the camera work. It has been shot really well, especially the action scenes.

The comedy timing of all the actors and dialogues are kick ass! There was this one scene after the interval which totally cracked me up- The Hum saath saath hai scene. If you’ve seen the movie, you’d know which one I’m talking about.  Some of the dialogues are legendary! Mithun Chakraborthy is truly a star!

Coming to the way the actors looked… I couldn’t take my eyes of Kareena… she looks gorgeous in all the scenes! For the first time I think I actually thought Ajay Devgan looked good! Kunal Khemu also for some reason looked pretty decent… otherwise I think he looks like a servant! I had a problem with Shreyas’ styling. Whoever did it, probably hated him ‘cause he looks so ganda! His hair and clothes look really really bad!

The songs aren’t that great but its ok. The movie is not about the music anyway.

Rohit Shetty has done it again! Golmaal 3 as a movie was howlarious in the second half and decent in the first half. I’d say it’s a little above average for me.

Khichdi (The Movie) – Movie Review

OK honestly speaking, I watch TV just once or twice a week, that too for just an hour or two so the question of watching the serial doesn’t arise at all! Yup! This was the first time I saw Khichdi… and loved it!

Story in short– Himanshu wants to get married but have the most controversial, filmy love story. His family helps him in his search but fail everytime till a very beautiful girl’s parents randomly say they want to get their daughter Parminder married to Himanshu. Everything is hale and hearty till the wedding day when he realizes that his love story is not controversial enough. So his crazy family members do everything they can to make his dream come true.

Let me tell you that this movie was absolutely crazy! Even though I wasn’t familiar with the characters, I wasn’t lost. Each character in the movie is well defined. Hansa was my favourite!  “Hello! How are? Khana khaake jaana huh!”  The actors are brilliant! Their comedy timings are just perfect! The dialogues are hilarious and you’d be hearing loud laughter from the audience throughout!

Now you need to get this straight- if you don’t like no-brainers, please do not watch this movie and insult it! This movie comes in the category of stupid-funny movies which are not everyone’s cup of tea.

I know for a fact now that if this show comes on TV, I will watch it for sure! Paisa Vasool Entertainment is what this movie is! Looking forward to many more Khichdi movies!

Khatta Meetha- Movie Review

Kya socha tha aur kya paaya! Honestly speaking, I didn’t go for this movie with any expectations. In spite of being a Priyadarshan fan, when I saw the trailer, I thought it would be quite a sad movie but since my brother really wanted to watch it I went with him.

Priyadarshan has made some of the most real and good humored movies in the past and Khatta Meetha is definitely one of those. Ok story-wise it’s a little shaky and the movie really drags in parts; also I think the actresses in this movie can’t act, but the dialogues and a lot of scenes are howlarious! I’m totally the slapstick comedy type and this movie has that bhar –bharke!

The best part about Priyadarshan’s films is his natural setting and the look of all the actors. If they’re middle class, he won’t dress them up in Manish Malhotra sarees or Armani suits. He likes keeping it real and that’s what makes the movie more real.

The story is about corrupt people in general- from the politicians to the engineers to the contractors and the workers. Akshay Kumar is great at comedy and he’s done a decent job in this one too but his character is not well defined. He’s quite a loser with absolutely no aim in life and is shown wooing the lady in the end. Rajpal Yadav is always a treat to watch and his comic timing is bang on! Johnny Lever has a short role too but I think he over-acted. Manoj Joshi is another one of those good actors you’ll find in most of Priyadarshan’s films.

Luckily there aren’t too many songs in the movie. Pritam’s music is ok but there was a lot of whistling and clapping during the ‘Aila re’ song.

Apart from a few glitches, Khatta Meetha is a fun movie. I wouldn’t say you must watch it in the theatre… you can do watching it at home also.

10 Reasons why you should watch the movie CHASE

Ok this is not my typical review (Since I’m not really a writer, I have the liberty to write as I please) But there are reasons why you must watch this movie! Read on.

1) I promoted it for 20 days online because I got paid for it!

2) Tarina Patel and Udita Goswami do a lot of cleavage-showing. So does Anuuj Saxena, in a few scenes.

3) Haha ok since I remember this corny scene very well, here it is:

SCENE: Udita Goswami dances provocatively around Anuuj Saxena who is in a “vegetative state” on a hospital bed. Cop sees all the tamasha and enters without knocking, once she finishes dancing and has now stripped into her maroon corsette and mini skirt.

Cop– Yeh kya ho raha hai
Udita– Main bas apna kaam kar rahi thi.
Cop– Kaam ya kaamasutra?

4) You must hear Anuuj Saxena say his dialogues. He sounds like Hrithik Roshan from Koi Mil Gaya.

5) Towards the end, there’s this one scene in which Anuuj Saxena asks the bad guys to come to some Rustomji park. There’s a huge black statue right in the middle of the park where all the 3 bad guys are, 2 of them being cops, and they don’t realise that Anuuj Saxena has painted himself black and is dressed up like Mr. Rustomji (whose statue magically disappeared!) And of course, there’s a hidden camera which is recording everything and the video is being played LIVE on News Channels directly!

6) Udita Goswami is dressed up as Lady Gaga in the last song and dancing around Anuuj Saxena. This was one of the USPs of the movie!

7) The movie is less than 2 hours!

8 ) Udita Goswami says “Izaazat” instead of “Ijaazat” and “Saajish” instead of “Saazish”

9) The tag line of the movie is “Think Fast…Run Faster”. Sadly, there’s no thinking in the movie, only running.

10) You will surely have a good time watching this movie with friends! Lots of things to laugh at!
