Dubai Diaries: Day 2
Day 2- Deira City Centre, Desert Safari
We started our morning with shopping! Aah! The feeling of entering a mall! *grinning wickedly*
So Deira City Centre is one of the malls that has the most sales which is where I did all my chocolates and baby clothes shopping.
Palak, Masi, Mummy and I posing before we head in four different directions.
This is one awesome supermarket! Offers you just can’t resist!
So we had a strict time limit for shopping we needed to keep up to and luckily, I had some more time left which is what made me participate in a random dance contest to win a free Signal toothbrush! Woohoo!
This was my lunch at the Food Court at Deira City Centre. Stir fried veggies, fried rice and Mirinda! Mine was actually the best choice from all 8 of us there!
I had heard a lot about Dunkin’ Donuts so thought I’d try. The one I had was Boston Cream Pie which was just ok. I wouldn’t say its better than Mad Over Donuts!
After resting for less than an hour, we set out to the main attraction in Dubai! The Desert Safari! And what a ride it was! Superb! Driving a car on the dunes requires a tremendous amount of skills!
You must have a posy picture on the gorgeous Dubai sands!
If you have long hair, be prepared to see it fly all over your face! A nice group picture clicked by Palak!
Once we reached the main area, everyone had to go for a camel ride! Not my idea of fun for sure! Scary the way the animal sits and stands man!
Quad Biking! Now this you must do but do it when you can see stuff and not like us when its too dark and you have a set boundary to ride around. Can get monotonous after the first ten minutes so share the ride with your friend.
So this was the stage area where all the performances of the night would take place and we would eat our dinner.
A bland but decent vegetarian meal. And Canada Dry! Didn’t think it would still exist!
Tanoura Dance! A must see! Wow! This man was spinning for atleast 10 minutes at a stretch! Amazing stuff!
Some more of the Tanoura dance. This time he was spinning the skirt.
Sheesha! Didn’t get cool reactions from family but couldn’t resist having a few drags.
Back at the hotel celebrating my Maasa’s 60th birthday with awesome cake-ice cream from Baskin Robbins! Yummeh! What a day!
