Khiladi 786- Movie Review

Roochster

Non-existent story, bad screenplay and direction, decent performances and styling, good background score and a waste of a ‘Khiladi’ movie; but then, what did you expect?

Bol Bachchan- Movie Review

Roochster

I didn’t have a good feeling about Bol Bachchan ever since I saw the trailer because it looked really stupid. Whether it’s unbearably stupid or bearably stupid you’re just about to find out.

Ok in one line, to get into Ajay Devgn’s good books and get a good salary, Abhishek Bachchan starts off with a lie…

The dialogues are horrible, especially Ajay Devgn’s. I feel so bad for Rohit Shetty because after giving us hits like the Golmaal series, All the Best and superhit Singham, Bol Bachchan is like a slap in the face! The action sequences are typically Rohit Shetty type with cars flying and all that jazz but they look too made up just for the heck of it. Also, I felt that the comedy was a little too over-the-top and not funny at all!

The styling is superb! I loved everything Prachi Desai and Ajay Devgan wore. Asin’s hairdo was different and looked quite good on her. Good camera work too. The music sucks!

The thing with this movie is that there are good actors but the screenplay and dialogues screwed it up. Abhishek Bachchan was superb as Abbas the pansy! The only scenes I probably laughed at must be the ones in which he plays that character. I loved Prachi Desai’s performance as always. She’s subtle and looks beautiful. Ajay Devgn was good too but there was nothing different for him to do. All the other supporting actors were either from Comedy Circus or a part of all the earlier Rohit Shetty films and no doubt they’re good.

Overall, Bol Bachchan was boring and a waste of time. A sincere request. Don’t watch this movie. Please.

Ready- Movie Review

Roochster

I was in Goa when Salman Khan starrer Ready released and I had to wait until I got back so I could go watch it. So yeah, I saw it 5 days after its release. Was it worth the wait?

The story is something like this- Asin (Sanjana) has two evil maamas (do not get along) who want to get her ancestral wealth of 200 crores. Salman (Prem) is the hero and so he jumps to rescue her from their evilness and gets them on the right path. Lots of masala and dhamaal happens in between all of that.

I love stupid, senseless and corny movies meaning movies for the masses and can watch them again and again if they’re really funny. For Ready, unfortunately, I can’t say the same. The story is nothing to brag about so leaving that aside, although I love Salman Khan to death and the main reason to watch this movie was him, I must say that the dialogues were very sad, the jokes or rather pjs were old and as a movie Ready could have been so much better!

Asin is a good actress but somehow I just feel that she and Salman don’t look good together. They just looked odd, you know what I mean? She just doesn’t go with the whole commercial film image. On the other hand, Salman Khan is Salman Khan. He’s just something else. With no air about himself he’s just himself even while acting and most Salman fans will agree that that’s what makes him Salman Khan and that’s why we love him. I just felt that he should have had more action scenes ‘cause those were the best scenes in the movie. I also felt Aarya Babbar who has a very small role really cracked me up with his expressions, especially in the action scene where the crab bites his butt! Mahesh Manjrekar was very annoying!

I admit that some dialogues were really funny but most were not. I also thought that the songs were ok except for Dhinka Chika and Character Dheela. They obviously did not have any connection with what was happening in the film and were just ghusaaod anywhere but a lot of masala films are like that so I wont single this one out in that department!

Overall, Ready was disappointing and very ok. If I had to compare, I’d say Dabangg was more entertaining than this. Watch it if you’re a Salman Khan fan!
